- Monday, March 1, 2003 at 7:00 p.m. The European Academy of Music and Art (EAMA) will present a piano concert at the Lithuanian embassy in Washington D.C. Performers: Students of EAMA, children age from 5 to 16. Teacher: Dr. Bella Eugenia Oster. The program will include piano pieces of L. v. Beethoven, F. Chopin, F. Liszt, C. Sant-Saens, J. Hoffman, S. About the artist:
Born in 1940 and raised in Brooklyn, NY., Joyce Ellen Weinstein moved to the Washington, DC area in 1988. She received her Masters in Fine Arts degree from the City College of New York In New York City she also attended classes at The Art Students League. She received fellowships to work at Mishkenot Sha’ananim, Jerusalem, Israel, Blue Mountain Art Center, New York State and recently painted a mural in Prague, Czech. Republic. She was an Artist in Residence at Europos Parkas, Open-Air Museum of the Center of Europe in Vilnius, Lithuania and had a One Person Show at Gallery Vartai, Vilnius, Lithuania. Her works are in the permanent collections of the National Museum of Women in the Arts, Washington, DC; Hebrew Union College Institute of Religion Museum, NYC., Gallerie-Junge KunstWerkStart, Vienna, Austria; The Social-Cultural Center, Prague, Czech Republic; Amnesty International; Einchen Americe, Princeton, New Jersey, among others. Her works are in private collections in the US and Europe. She is among the artists included in “Fixing the World: Jewish American Artists of the Twentieth Century”, written by Ori Z Soltes, published in December 2002, by the Brandies Division of New England University Press.

About the artist: Judita LEITAITĖ graduated from the Lithuanian Music Academy with honors in 1984 where she studied chamber singing under Assistant Professor Giedrė Kaukaité. In 1987 she became a laureate in M. Glinka Contest of Vocalists and was awarded a special prize for the best performance of a vocal series. In 1991 Judita LEITAITĖ became a laureate in the Contest of Vocalists in Finland. Judita LEITAITĖ has toured the USA, Yugoslavia, Germany, Poland, Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Holland, France, the CIS countries, has performed in the largest halls of Moscow, St. Petersburg and Minsk. Judita LEITAITĖ performs with Vilnius, M.K. Čiurlionis State Quartets, organists, "Musica humana" and jazz bands. She is often invited to sing with Moscow Chamber Orchestra conducted by Constantin Orbelian, Saulius Sondeckis Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra, London Symphony Orchestra conducted by Sir Yehudi Menuhin. Three compact discs have been released with the participation of the soloist. A great many of her recordings in various styles and epochs are stored in the Lithuanian Radio archives.

- Sunday, March 21, 2004, 4:00 p.m. An US premiere of the Lithuanian film "Vienui Vieni" (Utterly Alone) created by theatre and film director Jonas Vaitkus with participation of well-known Lithuanian actors and actresses - Saulius Balandis, Brigita Bublytė, Povilas Stankus, Danutė Vidugirytė, Vladas Bagdonas, Rolandas Kazlas, Arūnas Sakalauskas, Liubomiras Laucevičius, Vytautas Rumšas, Ramūnas Rudokas, Olegas Ditkovskis and others will take place at the Lithuanian embassy. Set against the backdrop of the Lithuanian resistance to the Soviet invasion, the film focuses on the legendary resistance fighter Juozas Luksa and his family. The film producer Mr. Vytautas Vilimas will make an introduction and lead a discussion after the film review. The length of the film is 1 hour and 30 minutes.
